2026 Show Rules

  1. A quilt is defined as having three layers — a top, middle made of batting or flannel, and a back. All three layers must be connected (either quilted or tied), edges must be bound or faced. No false backs. Exceptions include cathedral windows, yoyos, and wool quilts. Wearables and home décor must have three layers with raw edges enclosed.
  2. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure all copyright laws have been followed. Credit should be given to the pattern designer, or in the case of an original design, the inspiration source.
  3. Entries should not contain any offensive, rude, crude, or vulgar language and/or images.
  4. All entries will be completed online. You may enter up to 6 entries at one time.
  5. Judged entries are $10 each for members, $12 for non-members. Exhibit only entries are $6 each. See payment options above.
  6. President's Challenge is open to dues-paying members only. Members may enter more than one piece. There is no entry fee for the President's Challenge.
  7. Special quilting awards will be awarded to the quilter of the entry. The entrant is responsible for ensuring the quilter receives their award.
  8. Deadline for entering the show is Monday, July 20, 2026 at noon local time.
  9. All quilts should be "Quilt Show Ready" — clean, free of animal hair, and free of odors including smoke and perfume. This will be strictly enforced.
  10. Quilts previously entered in a Crossroads to Texas quilt show (any year) are not eligible.
  11. Every quilt must have an open-ended 4" rod pocket sewn to the top of the back for display. For extra-long quilts, sew the rod pocket at 90" from the bottom. Exceptions: table runners, miniatures, and other small items.
  12. Each entry should have a medium-sized binder clip (about 1.25" wide) attached to the bottom of the quilt to attach the description sheet after judging.
  13. Each entry must be submitted in its own fabric bag with the entrant's name, address, and phone number written with permanent fabric marker (or on a sewn-on label). Additionally, safety pin a photo of your quilt on the bag.
  14. Each entry must have a fabric identification label sewn on the lower corner of the back. The label must include the entrant's name and title of the entry. Please cover the label with a fabric scrap or painters' tape (may be safety pinned).
  15. Entry drop-off: Wednesday, August 26, 2026, 2–6 pm at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center (far-left front door). Entry pick-up: approximately 5:30 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2026 (center door).
  16. The Quilt Show Committee reserves the right to: (a) refuse any entry deemed inappropriate or which fails to meet entry requirements; (b) move an entry to a different category; (c) combine or separate categories based on the number of quilts entered.
  17. All rule enforcement is at the discretion of the Quilt Show Committee.
